Test your shuffle
First, arrange the deck by suit and rank (or in another starting order of your choice). Then shuffle as usual and enter the cards one by one in the online calculator. Entering a deck takes about two minutes. The calculator counts rising sequences and neighbour pairs, plots each deck on the test chart and, after ten decks, checks your shuffling method for traces of the starting order. The test cannot prove that a method mixes well; it can show that it does not.
1Sort your deck
Starting order2Shuffle
Shuffle as you usually do, with riffles, a wash or both.
This test covers riffles and washes. If you shuffle overhand, you already have your answer: it takes thousands of passes to mix a deck that way, so your deck is not shuffled enough. The shuffle test page explains why the overhand shuffle is not effective.
3Enter your shuffled deck
Turn the deck face up. Click the card you see in the grid, or type its code. Slide it face up onto a pile beside the deck, then repeat.
Several decks at once
Enter one deck per line, or upload a .csv or .txt file with one deck per line. Use the same starting order for every deck you enter, and check that it matches the one selected above. List cards from the top.

The ten decks on the chart
The chart starts with ten decks shuffled by LeShuffler. LeShuffler does not riffle: a random draw sets the position of each card in an internal carousel.
